Auto Bavaria has launched the first MINI brand electric vehicle (EV) charging facility in the northern region. Located on the sixth floor of Gurney Plaza, Penang, the brightly colored area houses three 22 kW MINI Gen 3 Wallboxes for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.
“The MINI Electric will account for more than 30% of the MINI models delivered by Auto Bavaria Penang by 2022, demonstrating the growing demand for electric vehicles in these parts of Malaysia. The new facility to charge MINI vehicles at Gurney Plaza aims to support the growing demand for electric vehicles demand and provide more public charging facilities in the northern states,” said Vi Thim Juan, managing director of Sime Darby Auto Bavaria.
“Gurney Plaza is an ideal location for our charging facility as it is a popular shopping mall and is strategically located in the heart of Penang City, making it easy for EV owners to charge their vehicles while out and about shopping at the mall,” he added. up.

Currently There are four charging stations for electric vehicles, three of which are from MINI.
Three new charging stations are now open to the public. Opening hours are 10am to 10pm daily.
