It’s been three years since I last attended TAS, so I was eager to participate in this year’s Mischief. During that time, though, I’ve moved farther away from Tokyo, and even farther away from the convention center in Chiba.

So I did what anyone else visiting Japan for the Tokyo Auto Salon would do, I booked a hotel near the venue. I could have caught the train, but a road trip in Project Rough seemed like a better idea. Long drives are also the perfect excuse to get my ER34 Skyline in tip-top shape ahead of schedule.

However, life got in the way a bit, and the next thing I knew it was time for a trip to Tokyo.Of course I didn’t any Preparation.

I needn’t have worried, though, as the Project Rough performed flawlessly during the drive, including the feeling of being stuck in traffic for hours after the main road was blocked by a massive building fire.

Finally checked into my hotel, it was wise to take a break before the early morning start of the 2023 Tokyo Auto Salon. But TAS week is all about hanging out with friends, cruising, and of course, speed hunting, So sleep is the last thing on my mind.

Stay tuned for more.
