BMW Group Malaysia, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary today, revealed that it will sell a total of 14,466 vehicles in 2022, a 35% increase from 2021, when it launched the facelifted BMW 3 Series today.

On a brand-to-brand basis, BMW vehicle sales were up 38% year-on-year, ending at 11,855 units. The company also noted that more than 2,300 3 Series have been delivered in 2022, while more than 1,300 2 Series Gran Coupes have been delivered to customers.

Meanwhile, the X-Series sport-utility vehicle (SAV) sold more than 5,100 units last year, with the X3 accounting for about 1,300 of those sales. As for the MINI brand, 1,233 (+26%) were delivered last year, while 1,378 (+20%) came from sales of BMW Motorrad cars, with the Adventure series accounting for just over 730.

In terms of electric vehicles, BMW Group Malaysia said sales of the BMW and MINI brands will exceed 4,600 units in 2022. The company also talked about efforts to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. Working with JomCharge, ChargeEV, Gentari and other partners, the company says there are now more than 610 EV charging facilities across the country.

On the financial front, BMW Group Financial Services financed more than 5,000 contracts in 2022 and the adoption of the Easy Drive program increased by 100%.
